Odisha runners-up in baseball sub-junior Nationals

Host Odisha finished runners-up in both boys and girls categories of the 24th Sub-junior National Baseball Championship, which concluded here at Kalinga Stadium today. Maharashtra boys and Chhattisgarh girls emerged champions in the four-day championship, which was organised by Baseball Association of Odisha (BAO).

Dominating the boys` final, Maharashtra outplayed Odisha 5-0. Omkar Pawar, Tallah Faruque, Lalit Tirali, Chirag Sonawane and Amay Pol scored for the winners. Omkar was adjudged the best allrounder and best pitcher of the championship. Maharashtra coach Nilesh Gadwe also praised performance of their pitcher Jewel Thakur. Chhattisgarh finished third in this category.
